In January 2019 we have had a total of 13 animals dead in just one month!!! To put this into context, 2018 saw the highest number of finless porpoises found dead in Hong Kong at 33 animals. This was the highest number of annual deaths since records began matching 2014’s 33 dead. Alarm bells were rung by Dr Lindsay Porter who even brought this to Legco, yet little to no action has been taken for Hong Kong’s lesser known cetacean. We have no idea of population numbers which makes this even more of a concern.
